Job Description

Perspectives Charter Schools Network is Seeking Certified Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year!

To qualify for the sign-on bonus, candidates must be new applicants not considered for a similar role, and not currently employed by the organization in order to qualify. Candidates must also hold a Professional Educator's License with the Illinois State Board of Education. Bonus will be paid within 30 working days from the start date with signed agreement. There is a 1-year payback clause if employment ceases prior to first year anniversary.

Job Purpose

The role of a teacher is to create a flexible program and class environment that is favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for all students in accordance with each student’s ability; to establish good relationships with parents and staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Is able to teach students in a clear and effective manner to drive academic achievement
  • Makes meticulous plans for lessons that address higher-order thinking skills, and uses formative assessment to constantly adjust plans based on student needs
  • Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of students with varying academic strengths
  • Demonstrates effective classroom management skills and builds a classroom culture based on the 26 principles of A Disciplined Life
  • Actively participates in professional development and works collaboratively with instructional leaders to improve instructional practices
  • Builds meaningful and professional relationships with students and families
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal or other school leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related field from an accredited College or University
  • Must hold active Illinois Teaching License: PEL, ELS(APE), ELS(CTE), or ELS(TBE)
  • Evidence of success working in an urban school environment strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and write proficiently using the English language
  • Ability to interact and speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of people

Physical Demands

Majority of work will be performed in a general office/school environment. Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties. Also requires participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.

Salary range for this position is $53,045-$83,430.
