Live-In Housekeeper | Hanover, PA
Compensation: $28/hour (on payroll)
Benefits: Health insurance with minimal employee contribution, 2 weeks PTO, paid holidays
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Living Accommodation: Beautiful, private 3-bedroom guest house with fully renovated kitchen and dining room

We are seeking a reliable, meticulous, and self-directed Live-In Housekeeper to support a kind, private couple living in a peaceful rural setting in Hanover, PA. This is a long-term, stable position offering a high-quality living arrangement in a lovely, private guest house steps away from the main home.

About the Role:

The housekeeper will be responsible for the full cleaning and maintenance of a large, well-kept home. However, only specific areas of the home are used regularly and require routine upkeep:

• Two active bedrooms and bathrooms

• Kitchen

• Husband’s study/library

• Wife’s sitting room

• A few additional living areas

The remaining parts of the home are cleaned just a few times per year.

Core Responsibilities:

• Deep cleaning of regularly used areas

• Family laundry, including linens

• Weekly changing of bed linens

• Care and upkeep of fine items, including:

  • Oriental rugs

  • Silver and brass (polished 2x/year)

• Grocery shopping once per week

• Occasional light organizational tasks or seasonal cleaning

Ideal Candidate:

The couple is looking for a thoughtful, discreet individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys working independently. A great match would be:

• A self-starter who can take general direction and run with it

• Someone who enjoys the quiet pace of rural living

• Must be comfortable with dogs – couple has one Jack Russell Terrier

• Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail

Additional Details:

• The home is located in a rural area, so comfort with quiet surroundings is essential.

• Safe driver with a valid driver’s license – for grocery shopping and errands

• No childcare or cooking is required.
